Your plan and billing
How the trial works, and how to change or cancel.
The free trial
Every plan starts with 14 days free. A card is entered at signup but nothing is charged during the trial. A few days before it ends we email the date and the amount; cancel before then and there's no charge at all.
What you pay after
Monthly plans are half price for the first three months, then the full rate: Stable $29, Barn $49, Program $79 a month. Yearly plans are $290, $490, and $790, which is two months free, and skip the introductory months. Every plan includes Ask 1barn Light (100 questions a month); bigger allowances are add-ons, under Barn settings → Assistant.
Stable and Barn are open to every barn today; an owner on Stable upgrades under Settings → Plan and billing and the new areas appear in the menu right away. Program is opening a few barns at a time; join the waiting list on the pricing page or from Settings → Plan and billing, and we'll email you the day it opens. A barn on Stable also has More for your barn in its menu, which lists what Barn and Program add, with an Upgrade button for Barn and the waiting list for Program; a few pages mention the next plan where it would help (the calendar when you add an event, the Horses page near fifteen horses) and each of those can be dismissed for a month.
Changing plans
From Settings, choose Manage subscription to open your billing portal. Moving up takes effect right away; moving down takes effect at your next renewal.
Your card and invoices
The same portal updates your card and lists every invoice. Receipts go to the owner's email after each charge.
Cancelling
Cancel from Settings → Plan and billing at any time. A monthly plan ends at the end of the period you've paid for; a yearly plan runs to the end of its year. Nothing more is charged, and the confirmation email gives the last day in your barn's own time zone. In the last two weeks every owner sees a line at the top of each page with Keep my subscription, and three days before the end we email every owner. Managers see a quieter line in the last three days.
When your subscription ends
Your barn stays fully open until midnight at the barn on its last day (Stripe's own end can fall in the early morning; it doesn't matter). From then on it's closed for everyone, on the web and in the phone apps: every page shows a short note instead, which says what happened and who can fix it.
Owners see Restart with the plan you had picked, at today's price. With a card on file it's one button, charged right away, and everyone is back in at once, on the page they were opening. Use a different card opens Stripe Checkout. A restart never gets a new free trial; the introductory half price applies only to a barn that never paid an invoice. Every owner of the barn can restart it. In the iOS and Android apps the note says to sign in at app.1barn.com in a web browser to restart.
Managers and staff see who the owner is and a button with the owner's name (Let Maya know), which sends every owner a notification and an email, once a day per person. Boarders, families and vendors see the barn's phone number, to call or text the barn directly. Booking pages, public forms, the Time Clock and 1barn Pay are closed too and show the barn's phone. Documents already sent for signature can still be signed and downloaded by the people who sign them.
If the last payment didn't go through (Stripe tried and gave up), the owner's note shows the open invoice with Pay, using the card on file, or Update card; paying it opens the barn at once. While Stripe is still retrying, the barn stays open and the owner sees a red line with the next try's date and Update card.
Your records after it ends
Nothing is deleted when a subscription ends. Your records are kept for 90 days, counted in your barn's days: a barn whose last day was October 17 is kept through January 15. We email every owner the morning after it ends, on day 60 and on day 83. Restart any time before the end and everything is back as you left it. After that the barn's records are deleted; signed documents are kept for the people who signed them. There's no download on the closed page; if you need a copy of something, write to support@1barn.com.
Money you take from your own families is separate from your subscription. Deposits, balances, and credits for events come with Barn; billing and invoicing your boarders (a monthly run, lesson billing, statements) is coming on the Program plan. This page is about your subscription to 1barn.
