The phone app

The same 1barn, in your pocket for the barn aisle.

Installing it

1barn is on TestFlight for iPhone and iPad while we finish the App Store listing; email hello@1barn.com for an invite. The Android app follows the same path through Google Play. Sign in with the same account you use on the web.

The tab bar

On the phone, the first four from your menu are tabs along the bottom, and More is always the last. For staff the four are Dashboard, Horses, Messages and Ask unless you arrange them (People takes Messages' place at a barn without Messages); for boarders, riders and families they are My barn, My horses, Messages and Calendar. Ask opens full screen: type a name to find it, or a question or an errand to ask Ask 1barn. An iPad is wide enough for the web app's own sidebar.

A count on a tab is what's waiting there, in your barn's color: unread messages on Messages, and on More the sum of what's inside it (1barn's replies to you, plus Messages when Messages is in More).

More

Tap More for everything that isn't on the bar. It opens over the page you're on, top to bottom: your name (tap it for My profile), Help and support with 1barn's latest reply, the rest of your places two to a row (Arrange changes their order), Notifications, Switch barn when you belong to more than one, Barn settings (and Plan and billing for the owner), and Sign out at the foot. Boarders, riders and families have Search under their name instead of Help: they ask their barn, in Messages. Pick a place and More closes onto it; tap More again, swipe it down, tap the page behind it, or use Android's back to close it. While you're on a page from More, More stays lit.

In a phone's browser there is no tab bar: the menu button at the top opens every place in the same order as More (you, Help and support, the Ask box, your places, then settings and Sign out), with a dot on the button when something is unread.

Hands full? The keyboard's dictation works in the Ask box. For a spoken conversation with your barn, use the Claude or ChatGPT phone app with the 1barn connector: see Talk to 1barn.

Your own menu order

Under My profile → Menu order, drag the areas into the order you want. The web and the phone have separate orders, so the four you reach for in the aisle can differ from the four you use at the desk. In the app list the first four are tabs, then More, which is always last; everything after the fourth is in More, in that order. For staff, Ask is a row like the others: move a place above it and Ask goes into More. Barn settings, Help and support and your profile always live in More, so they aren't in the list.

The time clock app

1barn Time Clock is a second, separate app for the barn's shared clock: a tablet or phone by the door where employees punch in with their code. It has no sign-in; the owner pairs it from Settings → Staffing → Time clock → Time clock devices. See Schedule and time for setting it up.

The phone app loads the same web app, so a new feature is there the moment it's released, with no update to install.
